Ali Zafar-Humaima Malick to perform together at 11th Lux Style Awards

Reportedly, Pakistani superstar Ali Zafar and Lollywood actress Humaima Malick would perform together at country’s biggest award show ceremony, 11th Lux Style Awards (LSA), that is to be held on 10th July 2012 at Expo Center Karachi.

Ali Zafar, who has been giving more of his time and energies to Indian ventures, will be seen in Pakistan’s most prestigious awards night. The news is, Zafar will be sharing stage with none other than Bol fame actress Humaima Malick. The rehearsals for the show has been undergoing in Karachi and a whole lot of showbiz fraternity is present and busy in the rehearsals for their respective performances.

It is interesting to note that Ali Zafar will be performing at Lux Style Awards after a long period of 5 years. The last time he performed at Lux Style Awards was back in 2007, when it was held in Malaysia. Zafar back then also bagged the award of “Youth icon”.

With now his ever growing popularity and reach, his performance at Lux Style Awards is anticipated the most. Ali Zafar is also nominated in the music categories of “best song” and “best album of the year” award. Humaima on the other hand, is already and unanimously declared as best actress of the year.

We are hoping this duo will give a smashing performance at Lux Style Awards 2012. Lets just hope they don’t perform on some shitty bollywood dance numbers. Good Luck to both!

Another Pakistani Band Rushk lent their song to Jism2 [Darta Hoon Song Review]

If there is a song which can raise your temperature in the most sensual way possible, then it is “Darta Hoon (Adhoora)” by Rushk the Band. The song is sung by progressive Gothic metal band from Karachi known as Rushk along with Nazia Zuberi Hassan and is originally from their album 'Sawal'. Due to the soft lyrics and sensual elements the way Nazia Zuberi Hassan brings with her stunning and heart-touching voice, the song made its way to Pooja Bhatt's upcoming erotic thriller, Jism 2.

Considering the fact that the talented Pakistani musicians are offered to lend their songs for Indian films despite India having a powerful amount of music personnel of their own, it truly is quite an honor for the Pakistani music industry due to opportunities of showing their talent on an international level. The song starts with low background music which gradually transforms into heavy guitaring and then comes the sensual element of the song: Nazia Zuberi Hassan.

The band RUShk sings the chorus throughout the song while Nazia Zuberi Hassan sings the empowering and heart grasping lyrics. The song is directed by Arko Parvo Mukherjee, produced by Shahi Hasan and the composition is credited to Uns Mufti and Ziyyad Gulzar. Seeing how the song suits an erotic thriller film, one can only imagine the excitement seeing the amazing porn star Sunny Leone sensually satisfying her bait while the song being played at the back.

“Dasht-e-Tanhai” by Meesha Shafi [Review]

If you have not seen the fifth episode of Coke Studio's fifth season, then you have no right to call yourself a music fan because you have missed one hell of a performance: The fabulous Meesha Shafi sang the soothing song 'Dasht-e-Tanhai' with her powerful and sensual voice and considering the fact how exceptionally well her performance was, it is safe to say that the original singer of the song, late Iqbal Bano would have indeed been proud of her.

The song starts with heavy but slow heart capturing vocals by Meesha with no background music. The stunning Meesha continues the flow for the first two minutes and then comes the awaited drums and acoustic guitars doing their thing. The song becomes even better with the matching background music. The best thing about the song, other than Meesha's talented voice, is its simplicity as the background music is solely based on soft drumbeats and even softer acoustics. Unlike many other Coke Studio songs, it does not comprise of loud electric guitars or trembling drum beats.

Coke Studio has received better feedback season after season and with Meesha Shafi performing this song alone, the Pakistani music industry is indeed getting better. In my humble opinion, the song is one of the best performances by the stunning Meesha Shafi and definitely worth listening for any Coke Studio fan.
