Pakistani singers Denied Indian Visa

Posted: 30 Jun 2012 10:51 PM PDT

The music album of the upcoming Bollywood film Cocktail – starring Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and Diana Penty – has received a tremendous feedback and what better to have the music launch with the talented Pakistani musicians who contributed their passionate voice for the album. Unfortunately, that is not going to take place as it just so happened that they were denied visa; thus making it impossible for them to come to India for the launching ceremony.

The Pakistani artists who contributed their voice for the soundtrack of Cocktail – a film by Saif Ali Khan's very own production company, Illuminati Films – included Punjabi folk music legend Arif Lohar and lead vocalist of Mekaal Hassan Band, Javed Bashir. Due to their unavailability, producers Saif Ali Khan and Dinesh Vijan decided to cancel the music launch in Mumbai and move it to London so both the country's artists can perform.

Sources related to producer Vijan have stated that, "The producer thought it is very unfair to these Pakistani singers, if they weren't given their due in front of Indian media. So they decided to entirely do away with the music launch. Reports suggest that the makers of the film are now planning to hold the music launch in London where both Indian and Pakistani singers who feature in the soundtrack will be performing." The upcoming film's music is composed by Pritam and will be released on 13 July 2012.

Veena Malik’s Bollywood Career Has Been Started

Posted: 30 Jun 2012 10:35 PM PDT

Controversy's favorite Pakistani is back with a bang and this time, it is in a Bollywood flick. The Queen of Controversy Veena Malik's first ever Indian film Daal Mein Kuch Kaala Hai has hit cinemas and is getting quite a good impression so far. This is not the first time a Bollywood film has included Malik in it as she made her debut by her sensational performance in the item song "Channo" for the film, Gali Gali Chor Hai. Ever since then, the road to Bollywood stardom got much easier for the model-turned-actress.

During an interview with The Express Tribune, Malik has enthusiastically stated how pleasant was the experience working closely with big names of Bollywood. "I have worked with big names, just look at the cast of Daal Mein Kuch Kaala Hai – but I am not someone who would stand in someone's shadow," said the Pakistani model. The film co-stars Jackie Shroff, Shakti Kapoor, Vijay Raaj, Raja Chaudhry, Aanand Balraj and Pakistani comedians Irfan Malik and Hassan Ali.

In the film, Malik uniquely plays a double role: an ambitious starlet and a beautiful angel. Playing a double role is not a big deal for her as she explained that, "Playing a double role on screen is new for me. But in my personal life I actually play the role of two girls – one is Zahida Malik [real name] and the other is Veena Malik. I am sure if I can play a double role in real life, it will be exciting to play a double role in a movie." With all the excitement and media focus revolving around the young actress, it looks like that Malik has plans to leave further marks in Bollywood. Currently Veena Malik is busy in shooting of her next film: Dirty Picture 2.
