11th Lux Style Awards Winners Posted: 10 Jul 2012 11:25 AM PDT Best TV Actress  (Terrestrial): Sanam Baloch The much talented Sanam Baloch was also one of the blessed starlets during the night as she won the prestigious award for Best Tv Actress (Terrestrial category) for her well performed role in the PTV’s drama 'Sehra Teri Pyaas'. Sanam Baloch proudly accepted the award which was presented to her by aactors Ali Safina and Savera Nadeem. Best TV Actror  (Terrestrial): Noman Ejaz Best TV Actor (Terrestrial) award goes to Noman Ejaz, He received this award for his drama Aao Kahani Buntay Hain (PTV). This talented actor is touching the limits for a decade. Humaima Malik and Fahad Mustafa presented the award. Best TV Actor (Satellite): Noman Ejaz The dedicated actor Noman Ejaz was certainly not walking home alone tonight as he will be accompanied by the award for Best TV Actor (Satellite category). The actor's skills and hard work in ARY's drama 'Mera Saeen' were finally acknowledged and appreciated tonight and the award was presented to him by the lovely Humaima Malik and Fahad Mustafa. Best TV Serial (Terrestrial): 'Tera Pyar Nahi Bhoolay’ PTV has mostly been the home of many emotional and well-scripted drama serials and it is no surprise if one of them wins an award for the Best TV Serial. As a matter of fact, its 'Tera Pyar Nahi Bhoolay' stood tall and proud as it won the award (Terrestrial category). Best Original Soundtrack Award: Woh Humsafar Tha', “Woh Humsafar Tha” is awrded as the best Original Soundtrack ,sung by Qurat-ul-Ain Baloch, from Hum TV's superhit serial 'Humsafar'. After all it was Hum TV's most successful, most watched and most well-scripted drama serial. The success of the serial has continued as it won the award for Best original Soundtrack and the credit goes to none other than Qurat-ul-Ain Baloch who sang the theme song. Best emerging Talent( Music category) :  Bambu Sauce Best Video Director Award:  Adnan Malik for Mera Bichra Yaar (Zoe Viccaji & Strings) Best Song of the Year : Wo humsafar tha Qurat-ul-Ain Baloch (QB) just grabbed another award and this time for the best song of the year  Who Humsafar Tha' just might be the most sung song by the fans of Pakistani media and why wouldn't it be? Best Music Video of the year : Mera Bichra Yaar That is pretty much the story of the internationally acclaimed Pakistani Pop band, Strings and anyone else closely working with them. Their story can add a new chapter in it as they have won the award for Best Music Video. Tha’ts Right! Adnan Malik received the award for directing the music video of the band’s song, ‘Mera Bichra Yaar. Best Album Of The Year : Jhoom “JHOOM” by Ali Zafar is awarded as the best Music album of the year. Best Emerging Talent ( fashion category ) : Zaheer Abbas Best emerging talent award is presented by saadia imam and faisal qureshi and it goes to Zaheer Abbas. Best Dressed (Female) : Sanam Chaudhri The award for the best dressed female goes to designer Sanam Chaudhri. Best Dressed (Male) : Umair Tabani The award for the best dressed male goes to none other then Umair Tabani. Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy wins Life time Achievement Awards at LSA Posted: 10 Jul 2012 11:14 AM PDT Sharmeen Obaid receiving Life Time Achivement Award at 11th Lux Style Awards Photo courtesy: SundayMag Sharmeen Obaid, the first person to receive Oscars award from Pakistan was awarded with life time achievement award in Lux Style Awards that were held at Karachi, on 10th July 2012. The charismatic director/film maker and a documentarian overwhelmed the crowd when stepped in to the hall and everyone were having their eyes gutted over her. Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy arrived at the event wearing a Sania Maskatiya outfit, accessorising it with jewellery around the neck and earrings from Mandarin and was looking without any doubts one of the most ravishing females in the evening. She was credited with this honour for her world acclaimed documentary “Saving Face” which highlights the bitter truths about women who are victims of acid attacks. This is the very same documentary which helped her to induct her name as the first ever person from Pakistan to hold the Oscar title in the field of production and media. BOL grabs Best Film, Actor and Actress Awards at 11th Lux Style Posted: 10 Jul 2012 10:47 AM PDT Call it an unfortunate state for Pakistani film industry or appreciate the efforts of film-maker Shoaib Mansoor, BOL the movie has managed to grab all film related awards at 11th Lux Style Awards. Bol, which was the only worth mentioning movie released last year, unanimously won all the prestigious awards including the best film , best actor and best actress award. Best Film Award: Shoaib Mansoor’s BOL Rather expected actually. If there was a film which took the hearts of Pakistanis by storm then it was undeniably none other than 'Bol'. Shoaib Mansoor cannot be much proud as his and his company Shoman Productions' endless efforts as have finally been awarded as his masterpiece has won the prestigious award for the best film. The award was received by the beautiful Mahira Khan on the director's behalf and was awarded by Ali Zafar. Best Film Actress Award : Humaima Malik for BOL The Lux Style Awards are truly a night for Shoaib Mansoor's 'Bol' as Humaima Malik also won the award for best female actor for her acting in Bol. The stunning Humaima portrayed the tragic-filled daughter in the movie who was hanged at the end for doing "what she believed was right." Humaima, looking lovely as ever, accepted the award believing that it is only the start of her path to stardom. "Thank you Lux, I feel super!" says Malik. Best Film Actor Award: Manzar Sehbai for BOL Whether you liked the character or not, you got to admit that the role of the Islamic extremist, unconventional, dysfunctional and questionable father Hakim Sahib was well portrayed by the actor Manzar Sehabi in 'Bol'. For his magnificent acting, Manzar won the award for best male actor but due to his unavailability, the award was accepted by Mahira Khan (who portrayed his daughter in the film) on his behalf. Mehdi Hassan sahab who passed away recently in Karachi, will be paid tribute by Ali Zafar in Pakistan’s most prestigious awards show night. Zafar who will also be dancing and performing along with Humaima Malick, will later pay a tribute to musical Maestro.
