Showcasing //orangenoise with Ufone Uth Records 2.0 Episode Six Posted: 28 Mar 2012 10:51 AM PDT [Pakistan – 27th March 2012]: Following the creative artist Sara Haider, Ufone Uth Records 2.0 is set to showcase the talents of the band //orangenoise, with the platform's sixth episode on the 31st of March 2012. The Karachi based band //orangenoise features four talented musicians: Daniel Arthur Panjwaneey on bass and vocals, Danial Hyatt on drums, Faizan Reidinger on synths and guitar with vocals and guitar by Talha Asim Wynne. The four band members come from varied musical backgrounds: Daniel Arthur previously played for a thrash band called Messiah, Talha has had experience of jamming in live shows while Faizan and Danial Hyatt are both also part of the band Mole. At Ufone Uth Records 2.0, //orangenoise will be performing ‘Chaser’ – a song whose lyrics aim to highlight the superficiality in society today and how the gap between one's pretensions and one's inner self is constantly widening. When the lead vocalist, Talha was asked about his expectations of Ufone Uth Records 2.0, he stated that he expected, “open mindedness to all sorts of music and spreading that open mindedness.” Ufone Chief Marketing Officer Akbar Khan said; "//orangenoise is a different youth band in so many ways – their music is different, their attitudes unique and what is exceptionally astonishing is perhaps the maturity they have as musicians and in their musical sound. We are proud to have them on the Ufone Uth Records platform." Ufone Assistant Brand Activation & Operation Manager Khuram Leghari said: "When listening to demos sent in by //orangenoise initially, we all did a double take as their sound is so unexpectedly international. The band has been seen and heard acorss Karachi's underground scene and we are proud to have given them a national platform through Ufone Uth Records 2.0 – taking them from the underground and to the mainstream" Directed by Zeeshan Parwez, Ufone Uth Records 2.0 Episode 2 will be airing on AAG, Aaj News, Apna Channel, ARY Muzik, ATV, A plus, Channel G, CNBC, KTN, Kashish, Metro, News One, Oxygen, Play TV, PTV Home, Style 360, TV One, Waseb and Wateen Cable Network as well as across Ufone Uth Records’ social media platforms, on Saturday 31th March 2012. Swaras feat. Glen Drover – Khayal (Audio/Video Review) Posted: 28 Mar 2012 10:47 AM PDT By Hataf Siyal Of late I have been impressed with the work of two bands; 1) The Sketches –– from Sindh, Pakistan; and 2) Swaras –– despite the fact that they work from Canada, their roots basically go back to the land of Pakistan. And even though it's very early to make a statement but I believe these two names, taking a leaf from the book of the famous Pakistani band Junoon, will leave their mark in the history of the music of Pakistan. Swaras, which means "seven notes of the scale", is a semi-classical pop-rock band that was formed in 2009 by the vocalist Asad Que. and guitarist Hassan Bokhari. Soon after the early success of "Kya Khushi" last year, the band Swaras makes their comeback with a brand new song called "Khayal". The song has been expressed in the language of Darbari and its poetry date back to the 18th – 19th century. Swaras' "Khayal" is not your ordinary run-of-the-mill stuff –– it is one of the fewest songs which will leave you spellbound only if you get full grasp on its meaning (so do yourself a favor and watch/listen the song after reading and understanding the core meaning of its lyrics, which can be found by clicking here). After doing a little bit of research, I have come up with a fact that the pop-music of Pakistan is actually identified by its heavy guitar'ing. And as we all know that Swaras' fan base (in majority) is in Pakistan; they've done justice to the song. Throughout, "Khayal" is based upon the energetic performances from Hassan Bokhari the lead guitarist and Faisal Ahsan the rhythm guitarist. The vocalist Asad Que. has also managed to pull off an incredible act with his mature voice. And last, but certainly not the least, Swaras' fusion with Glen Drover (who has been a member of the famous American heavy metal band Megadeth) is sheer brilliance. As far as the video is concerned, director Jawad Mir does an okayish job on mixing up with an electrifying audio. This backyard location (the "jamming" type of a set) and these graffiti walls add up some spice real nice to the entire song. Technically speaking, the camerawork, lighting, and editing is almost perfect. To sum up, is by far one of the best songs of 2012 in terms of its feeling, poetry, and kickass music. The amalgamation of Asad Que, Hassan Bokhari, Faisal Ahsan, Amir Samimi (the drummer), and Glen Drover pays off well! AUDIO RATING: 8.5/10 Read more at: Swaras feat.
