Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Y U SMOKE SECRETLY ON STAGE :D

Posted: 19 Mar 2012 10:10 AM PDT

To be honest, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan is currently one of the best classical singers in not just whole sub continent, but in the whole World right now. Rahat, not just himself is a maestro, but the qawwal team with whom he performs, make such an environment at the events that the audience literally reach to another world of fantasy.

I have personally experienced such events of Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, where not just old couples went crazy after seeing his performance, but also the corporate executives left their seats and danced to appreciate Khan Sahab.

Rahat Fateh Ali Khan is a VERY CAMERA SHY person that is one major reason that we don’t see him much on TV or know much about him. But in this new media age, no one and nothing is hidden, even the shy celebrities that we love and look after to.

So quite recently, Rahat Fateh was caught smoking secretly on stage while he was still performing. The event was titled as Samaa-e-Ishq and was organised in Marriott Hotel, Islamabad.

How was the “Samaa” there, you will only come to know once we share the complete photos of Rahat Fateh the Samaa-e-Ishq Night, till then enjoy these amazing and unseen photos of Khan Sahab:

Recently, it has been announced officially that the President of Pakistan has approved awarding of Sitara-i-Imtiaz in recognition of one of the country's most successful performers, Muhammad Qavi Khan. Qavi Khan began his career through Radio Pakistan back in 1952. He is considered to be the first hero of Pakistani television drama serials when the state's channel, PTV, started broadcasting in 1964.

He was also given the Pride of Performance in 1980. He has also been rewarded a Life Time Achievement Award. Along with that he had also won Best Actor award. He had performed a lot in theatres and is respected as one of the leading performers on stage.

It is worth praising that Pakistani Government is recognizing the true legends of the art of acting in this country. Indeed, M. Qavi has had a lot of fan following since many years and is still going strong with a young spirit in his heart.

Mooroo – Patakhi Larki (Audio/Video Review)

Posted: 19 Mar 2012 08:41 AM PDT

By

After reviewing Club Caramel's "Deewana" and The Sketches' "Nind Nashe Vich" earlier this month, it's now the perfect time to introduce and review Mooroo; a newcomer in the music industry of Pakistan, who hails from the most populous nation of Pakistan –– Lahore.

Mooroo has been influenced to give a shot at music by legendary subcontinent artistes like Kishore Kumar, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Abida Parveen, and Sajjad Ali, as well as by internationally recognized musicians like The Beatles, Michael Jackson, Pearl Jam, and many more.

As soon as "Patakhi Larki" kicks off, the state and/or presence of mind which you're in is completely taken away by the beautiful and lively guitar chords that are going along smoothly with the vocals of Mooroo. However, when the song reaches its penultimate end, you'd be surprised as to why a song that actually started off well ended up being just another run-of-the-mill stuff.

The musical arrangements and composing of the song could've been better in terms of its melody –– it didn't sound attractive, and thus gave it a pretty much bland and boring tune. In spite of all this, one thing that stood out –– audio-wise –– was Mooroo's vocals. More on, the guy looks equipped with heaps of talent, a lot of potential and depth in his voice but he just needs to come up with decent composited tracts to attract the viewers with.

The video of Mooroo's debut track "Patakhi Larki" shows the gorgeous TV actress and model Ainy Jaffri, who is also known as Maya for her act in famous TV serial Dreamers. The cinematographer, Nouman Waheed brings out the best possible results from the camera whilst the lighting is also brilliant. "It's unique", is all what I got to say, as far as the concept of this video is concerned.

At last, even though "Patakhi Larki" could've been a better song –– and maybe an anthem due to its catchy phrase –– I don't really recall myself having to remember about any new musician who came out trying with different aspects of music, and that too in their debut track. So, for that bravery, and in terms of experimentation, Mooroo's stint at music must be given a nod!

AUDIO RATING: 7/10
VIDEO RATING: 8/10
