Ali Zafar, Roxen and Saeen Zahoor Live at Royal Palm (Concert Pictures) Posted: 11 Mar 2012 11:41 AM PDT Pakistani Prince of Pop and now emerging Bollywood actor, Ali Zafar, recently performed in a “couples only” concert at Royal Palm in Lahore. Before his most anticipated performance, The Band Roxen and Sufi Folk Artist Saeen Zahoor entertained the audience. Naseeruddin Shah is Shooting for His Pakistani Film in Pakistan Posted: 11 Mar 2012 11:34 AM PDT The famous Indian actor Naseeruddin Shah was recently in Pakistan for shooting his next film with Indo-Pak debutant directors Minoo Gauhar and Mazhar Zaidi. Minoo is an Indian Hindu and Mazhar is a Pakistani Muslim and both are married to each other. They have explored this subject of cross-border marriages as well as inter-religious marriages in their new film about which they have not revealed much. The film is about illegal immigrants and in that Naseeruddin Shah plays a negative character. This is Naseer's Second Pakistani film as previously he worked with Shoaib Mansoor in Khuda Ke Liye. Shoaib Mansoor wanted him to be a part of his film Bol too, but that could not happen for some reason. Naseeruddin Shah has been a frequent visitor to Pakistan amongst his Indian film fraternity. Naseeruddin, talking about working yet again in a Pakistani film, said that:

Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy Finally Brings the Oscar Home to Pakistan Posted: 11 Mar 2012 11:29 AM PDT Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy made her nation proud by winning the first Oscar for Pakistan for a documentary film Saving Face. She landed at Jinnah International Airport, Karachi, just yesterday with an Oscar in her hands greeted by fans and proud Pakistanis around. Sharmeen, who was born in Karachi, also holds Canadian nationality, but her heart belongs to the Pakistani nation. Sharmeen thanked Pakistan for its support and encouragement and expressed her joy in bringing home the Oscar. She address the media in a press conference later that day and was pictured alongside some of the victims she had shown in her film covering the story of their plight. Mustafa Zahid Left in the Middle of His Performance in Lahore Posted: 11 Mar 2012 11:25 AM PDT Recently, Roxens' Mustafa Zahid left in the middle of his performance in Lahore's Royal Palm on 10th March due to his mic constantly getting disconnected. He is already known for his bad temper as well as being in the media gossip columns for his various relationships with one or another celebrity. This time though it is due to his anger that he openly disappointed in front of his fans that he got into a bad limelight. Due to his smashing of the mic on the stage floor, it broke into pieces. In his anger he left the stage and the rest of the band members then also packed up their musical instruments to follow him. Backstage, it was Ali Zafar reportedly who calmed Mustafa Zahid down. Veteran Actress Tahira Wasti Passed Away at 68 Posted: 11 Mar 2012 11:19 AM PDT Today, another veteran television actress of Pakistan, Tahira Wasti passed away in Karachi. She was 68 years of age and was under treatment since past few weeks. Tahira Wasti is a recognized name from Pakistani television industry and had a good career working for it. She started her career in 1968 and made her mark while working in Jaib Qatra, based on Saadat Hassan Manto's short story. She also played roles in such serials as Kashkol, Jaangloos, and Daldal. She was known for her graceful characters and appearance. Her husband Syed Rizwan Wasti and her daughter Laila are both actors and the actress Maria Wasti is her niece.
