Finally, the new season of Coke Studio has been shot and completed at Studio 146 in the Korangi Industrial Area, Karachi. The Coke Studio Season 5 is expected to be on air in April and May. The sneak peek teaser for the show might air in April.

There has been much speculation amongst the fans and in the media as to who will feature in the new season, with a lot of fans expressing their choices on the Coke Studio's Official Facebook Fan Page. It will feature such Pakistani singing stars as Atif Aslam, Bilal Khan, Hadiqa Kiani, Meesha Shafi, Bohemia and Uzair Jaswal.

As with every Coke Studio Season, this time as well the Coke Studio Season 5 was being awaited by the Pakistani music fans eagerly. Their wait is over now, because they will get a real musical treat from their favourite singers. There will be sufi and rock music just as before both fused and pure in their styles.

Even the singers cannot hold their excitement back. Bohemia and Uzair Jaswal tweeted this:

"Recently, I am done with the Coke Studio and my fans will soon see me on their TV screens performing there in Coke Studio. I hope my fans would really like my performance there". He is hopeful about his involvement with the Coke Studio Season 5 and said:

"I promise that this year's going to be even bigger and better; there are a lot more music coming your way."

The video producer of the show, Adnan Malik said:

"Season 5 of Coke Studio is in the can! Beautiful sights and sounds this summer."

Even one of the backing-vocalists of the musical series, Zoe Viccaji, has said:

"This is going to be the mother of all seasons!"

So with such promises and excitement from the people involved to bring us the show, fans can be sure they will really enjoy the season. To make Season 5 as fans want it to be, they have included Hadiqa Kiani too who has not been on the show before. Adnan Malik said:

"Hadiqa has never been featured on CS before and this time Mr. Rohail Hyatt is pulling out all the ropes."

John Louis Pinto II, who is famously known as Gumby, was replaced for this Season of the Coke Studio with Overload's Farhad Humayun. Meesha Shafi is also expected to be part of the season in one of the episodes.

Recently, Aditi Rao Hydar, Ali Zafar's co-star of the new flick London, Paris, New York, discussed their love-making scenes for the film to Times of India. Aditi was full of praises for Ali Zafar for putting her at ease through all of this. The scene was shot in a hotel in Paris with a nice environment both out and inside the room. She said:

"I was nervous. But Ali put me at ease. I could not have asked for a better co-star to take me through the scene that too so convincingly."

Ali Zafar on the other hand is very excited about the release date of the film bringing in good news for his fans in Karachi and also for a personal reason of his wife. Ali Zafar said:

"I’m more excited this time as this will be my debut as a music composer for the first time in a Bollywood movie. People and fans are eagerly waiting to watch the movie and listen to my musical compositions. They have appreciated my trailers of the movie and hope Inshaallah it does well. In fact this would be a double celebration for me as the movie releases on 2nd March which also happens to be my wife Ayesha’s birthday. There are also plans to do a special screening in Pakistan at Karachi on 8th March. Aditi, the co-star of the movie is very keen to visit Pakistan and if we can get the permission she will surely be there along with me at the screening in Karachi."

Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy Launched Anti-Acid Campaign After Her Oscar Win

Instead of celebrating this unique victory at the Oscars for Pakistan, which most spent a life-time in a hard-working career and still do not achieve, some of the nay-sayers are critising Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy for portraying Pakistan in a negative light. She has answered back to these skeptics by launching a campaign on Tuesday through their website, savingfacefilm.com. Around 200 women fall prey to such victimization and cases are hardly registered against the culprits with minimum prosecution carried out against them. According to the co-director of the short documentary, Daniel Junge:

"The film must be more than an expose of horrendous crimes, it must be a recipe for addressing the problem and a hope for the future."

Just last year, Pakistan's parliament passed stricter penalties against such acid attacks with the punishment being between 14 years minimum to a life in prison and a fine of Rs.1 million.

According to Sharmeen's mother, Saba, the victory "provided her with a unique opportunity and strength to strive for her goal more effectively".

Hence, not only had Sharmeen become the first Pakistani to get nominated and win an Oscar for her country, but she is also helping to bring positive change by actually addressing the issues instead of hiding away from them. If the educated class and the ones filled with opportunities will not take of this country, then there is no right of Pakistani Government to go on begging others to do so for this nation.

Announcing Jarar Malik: Ufone Uth Records [2.0] Second Episode

[Pakistan – 28^th February 2012] Following the launch of Ufone Uth Records 2.0 with a first episode that celebrated the journey of Season One’s artists; the anticipated music platform is now set to introduce six new artists, introducing a new musician weekly through six individual episodes. To this end, Ufone Uth Records Episode Two will showcase the work of Jarar Malik on 03 March 2012.

A Pakistani American musician, Jarar Malik will be performing his original track ‘Bewafa’ at Ufone Uth Records 2.0 – a song about heartbreak, something he felt most people have experienced at some level and will be able to relate to. Experimenting with a diverse range of musical genres from pop to rock to R&B, Jarar plays both the guitar as well as keyboards. Season One artist Natasha Humera Ejaz also contributes to this track with her backing vocals as well as audio mixing; Guest musician and bassist Russell D'Souza also features with Jarar on 'Bewafa' as does producer Ufone Uth Records and drummer extraordinaire, Louis J 'Gumby' Pinto. Through Ufone Uth Records 2.0, Jarar hopes to receive a platform to showcase his art to a wider audience and to connect with them on a musical level.

Akbar Khan Chief Marketing Officer of Ufonehas said "This year and once again our music platform endeavours to show how talented young musicians can thrive in a professional music environment where one of their original compositions is refined in our specialised recording studio with some of Pakistan's most gifted musicians. Speaking about working with Jarar, producer of Ufone Uth Records, Louis J 'Gumby' Pinto said: "Jarar’s music is definitely mainstream, however it does have a very strong influence of funk. I sensed a sparking new turning point in mainstream music in his approach. He is confident about his songwriting, his identity as a musician and the kind of music he wants to put out. Of course as a musician he will evolve and he certainly does have the potential to do so. We all at Ufone Uth Records had a great time hanging and making music with him. I am certain that we all will be hearing a lot more fun music from Jarar in the coming years"

Jarar Malik on his experience at Ufone Uth Records said "I have been playing for a variety of bands since my childhood and have recorded and produced my own debut album at home however recording my track in a professional studio environment under the guidance of the platform's producer Louis J 'Gumby' Pinto was an absolutely amazing experience altogether."
