Ali Azmat Does Not Want to Reunite With Salman Ahmad

Posted: 14 Jan 2012 05:33 AM PST

is still dissatisfied with his former band-member . He says that he has nothing against the band itself, but he cannot tolerate Salman. Even though Salman wants to mend things to get together again as a band, but Ali would have none of it.

Ali Azmat said this regarding Salman:

"I resent Salman Ahmad; I can't stand the man and can't take his dramas. It's a choice of personal liking. Salman has tried to contact me but I don't see the point, I won't be able to tolerate a lot of things. When you're younger, you overlook a lot of things and you don't know much, but I'm 41 now and at this stage in time I cannot play music like that."

The founding member of was actually Salman himself. He formed the band in 1990 being the lead guitarist. The band has been one of the most popular singing groups in Pakistan. Since a couple of years, the band has disintegrated.

But Ali Azmat now thinks that the band could never be reunited. If they patch up then it will be great for Pakistani pop music. If Ali is adamant with his decision, let us hope that he proves his point right. Or else, it will be a big mistake.

Atiqa Odho’s Liquor Case Hearing Adjourned Till February 4

Posted: 14 Jan 2012 05:30 AM PST

was caught at the Islamabad airport on June 4, 2011 while possessing two bottles of imported liquor in her luggage. She said that she had been taking champagnes before but has never been stopped. However, that day she got through the Pakistani customs due to pulling of some strings at the back.

Later, the Supreme Court of Pakistan took suo moto action against her conduct and declared it as illegal. Now her new hearing for the wine recovery case has been adjourned till February 4. She appeared before Judicial Magistrate Rawalpindi Humayun Pervez. Due to Islamabad Bar Association election, lawyers could not argue in the case according to the prosecutors. For this reason the hearing time has been extended. The court has also asked to present four witnesses in the case when the next hearing comes around.

It is immature and foolish for such a renowned actress like Atiqa to have done such an illegal act and then to claim that she was not in the wrong in the first place. This does not show well on Pakistani culture especially when such highlight is brought to these incidents by court hearings and media coverage. The new comers should learn a lesson of being responsible Pakistani artists to which not only their fame but identity is also attached.

Arif Lohar Will Also Sing For Indian Films

Posted: 14 Jan 2012 05:26 AM PST

is one of the most famous Pakistani folk singer. It has been reported that he will now start singing across the border for Indian films too. Already he is known in India for his folk music, now he will get a chance of being recognized even more so. He received offers for singing again when he visited India recently. He is hopeful that he will make his mark and has accepted these offers.

Getting offers from India to sing for their films is nothing new for Pakistani musicians. Arif Lohar is no different. He has been receiving offers to sing for the past 12 years, but up till now he has not accepted a single one of them. Now, for some reason he has changed his mind. Music has no language and no boundaries, and the musical cultures of both India and Pakistan are similar and diverse.

A folk singer like Arif Lohar will have no difficulty finding his audience there. Through such cultural exchanges the entertainment industries of both the countries could benefit tremendously. Arif Lohar will make a perfect amalgamation of both Indian and Pakistani music technologies. He will record his songs here in Pakistani studios but will send them to India for final makeovers through latest technology used by Indian studios. Arif Lohar will not be the first one to do so, as many legendary Pakistani singers have taken similar paths.
