Strings to Compose the Title Track for Marvel’s ‘The Avengers’? Posted: 22 Jan 2012 09:39 AM PST The Avengers is an upcoming American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics superhero team of the same name. Produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Pictures, Joss Whedon’s The Avengers is scheduled for release in India on April 27, a week before it will release in the United States on May 4 in 2D and 3D. Word is that the Hindi dubbed version of the film will feature a Hindi/Urdu title song, which is just to give the film a local feel and to attract more local audience. According to comicbookmovie.com, two bands – one from Pakistan (Strings) and one from India (Agnee), have been short-listed to compose the title song for the film. "They are looking for action songs, at par with the mood of the film," reveals a production insider. Only one song will be selected that will be featured in the soundtrack as well as in the final print of the film. This additional title track will be exclusive to the native country, which means that only the Indian/Pakistani version of the soundtrack will contain this additional track apart from the other tracks officially composed for The Avengers soundtrack by Alan Silvestri. "The music composed by these bands will be sampled, and on the basis of that, they will decide which will finally compose the title track of the film," says the source. It is interesting to note that Strings, one of the bands considered, has already worked on a Hollywood song, having released the song “Na Jaane Kyun” for Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 2 back in 2004.
