Uth Records 2.0 Airs From Early 2012

As reported earlier, Ufone has renewed the show for another season calling it the Uth Records 2.0. The deadline for the demos was set to be the 21st of October. Now that the production team has the demos, they now currently in the process of short listing talented new youth acts. This is in continuation of their commitment to provide talented young musicians a professional music platform for their original work to be seen and heard across Pakistan, irrespective of age, gender, language and background.

You may probably already have heard that Omran Shafique will not be part of the production team this season because of his other commitments although this hasn’t been confirmed by the Uth Records team as yet.

Since Omran has been part of the core production team for the show, it will be interesting to see how they pull off the show without him. I’d also be expecting someone else to replace him. While the name hasn’t been made public yet, we will all know that soon since the press conference will be held a few days before the show airs.

Anurag Kashyap Praises Beygairat Brigade

Critically acclaimed Indian film director and screenwriter Anurag Kashyap, who is known for films like Black Friday, No Smoking, Dev D and That Girl in Yellow Boots, praises the Lahore-based political rock band Beygairat Brigade.

The band members confessed to the TOI that they are ‘hardcore’ RD Burman fans and Anurag Kashyap admirers. In an interview with the TOI, the band admired Kashyap by saying “Please tell him if he ever makes Dev D again, we’ll mortgage everything to come and be a part of his film in any way.“

Hearing such remarks by the Beygairat Brigade, Kashyap’s fans tweeted to him about the band and asked him to give these young guys a listen. Kashyap requested the followers tweeple to send him the link to the newly viral political song. On hearing the track, Kashyap tweeted

“Beghariyat Brigade’s video is awesome.. the guys are awesome..”

Not just that, he then shared the track with all his followers, which are a little over 27,000 in number. He also personally tweeted to the Ali Aftab, the vocalist for Beygairat Brigade, asking if he can hear more of them.

As I see it, this hints a potential deal. Beygairat Brigade could be next hitting the Bollywood.
